Sure its appealing the first couple of times you use vista it looks pretty cool but at the end of the day most of us agree it's pretty much useless.

  • Right-click on the Vista sidebar.
  • Click on properties.
  • Next you need to uncheck the start sidebar in the checkbox in the window that appeared.
  • right click on the sidebar button
  • Scroll down and click on exit.

In order to capture the current screen you are viewing, the Vista snipping tool needs to be installed. Once it has been installed it is a good practice to restart your computer.
Click on the Windows Vista Start Icon (pictured here) and in the search box where it says "start search" type over "Snipping Tool" the Windows Vista Snipping Tool should appear at the top of the programs search box.

Now, you need to click on the Snipping Tool link and the Snipping Tool will become noticeable in the middle of the screen.  Now click on options and then click on the display icon found in the Quick Launch Toolbar so it has a tick mark next to it. Click Ok, and then click the option that shows X in the top right corner.

If you want to capture a screen shot, simply locate the snipping tool on your windows quick launch toolbar then you might have to click on the >> symbol to see the snipping tool option then click on the snipping tool link. The cursor of your mouse will turn into a CROSS; use this cross to locate the area on the screen that you want to take a screen shot of click and release. Another window will pop up on the side with the capture area displaying. Then, click on the file and save as to save the captured copy to your system Choose .JPG or .GIF and save the copy to your hard drive. It's just as simple as that now you can use it for whatever purpose you need to.

  • Before you do anything, back-up all the things that you need like pictures, Songs or important documents you might have.
  • Put the original cd of windows Vista in your CD-Rom and boot it up. Let the PC load up.
  • When the computer loads up, choose the option which will format the hard disk. Be sure that you have everything you'll need from your files.
  • If you want to remove specific programs, you'll have to go to the add/remove programs tab in the control panel and choose what you want to remove.

Things to Watch Out For!

  • Doing this won't actually un-install Windows Vista as a program in un-installed but a different OS such as Linux needs to be selected to achieve this result. That will overwrite Windows Vista. If you install    another version of Windows, it won't write over your files that were stored on Windows Vista. Instead, it will give you the option to import them into the new operating system. Still, it is always a good idea to back up all your files before making any major changes to your computer.
  • The main drive which includes the Windows folder (C :/) cannot be configured.
  • By doing these acts, one should keep in mind that all the files, pictures, songs etc will be erased and proper back-up of required items should be ready.

  •  You should also turn off Unneeded Features and Services. This can truly help speed your start-up time. There are so many things that Vista automatically opens up every time you start up your pc , where as    nearly all of them are completely unnecessary and not required  most of the time .
  • Also disable all unnecessary features and services they all tend to slow down the system to unnecessary heights.

  • Put the Original cd into the disk drive. Also don’t forget to have the Activation Key ready.
  • Restart your PC with the cd in it. Let the computer Start-up.
